ADHD Assessments
At our clinic we provide comprehensive ADHD assessments for both adults and children. These evaluations are designed to offer clarity, support, and individualized recommendations for those experiencing challenges with attention, organization, and impulse control.
Common Signs and Symptoms of ADHD
● Trouble staying focused or completing tasks
● Easily frustrated or overwhelmed
● Time blindness and poor planning
● Frequent forgetfulness
● Impulsive decisions or actions
● Restlessness or fidgeting
● Difficulty following instructions
● Emotional regulation challenges
● Disorganization in daily routines
● Frequent careless errors or missed details
● Struggles with listening and concentration
An ADHD assessment is not just about a label. It is about understanding why these challenges occur and creating a clear path forward.
● For students it can mean access to academic accommodations such as extra time on exams, modified assignments, and coaching strategies.
● For adults in the workplace it can unlock support such as flexible deadlines, organizational tools, and insights into how your brain works so you can perform your best without burning out.
● For everyday life it can reduce shame, improve relationships, boost confidence, and help make informed decisions with a sense of empowerment.
Whether for students, adults in the workplace, or everyday life, an ADHD assessment can unlock support, accommodations, and strategies to help you thrive.
Why Consider an ADHD Assessment
Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try, you are always one step behind? Maybe you:
● Struggle to start or finish tasks even the important ones
● Feel overwhelmed by simple things like emails, chores, or assignments
● Lose track of time, miss deadlines, or forget appointments
● Get frustrated with yourself for being disorganized or scatterbrained
● Struggle to sit still, focus during meetings or lectures, or stop your mind from racing
● Hear from others that you are not living up to your potential
What to Expect
An ADHD assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to clarify the presence of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and the factors associated with it. The main steps include:
1. Clinical Interview
A conversation to understand your experiences, challenges, and daily life.
2. Testing Administration
Completion of questionnaires and activities to assess attention, memory, and executive functioning.
3. Scoring and Report Writing
Review and integration of all assessment information into a formal report with recommendations.
4. Feedback and Results Session
A session to review results, discuss recommendations, and outline next steps.
Child and Teen ADHD Assessments
We typically begin ADHD assessments for children aged six and older when developmental differences are clearer and tools are more valid and reliable
Why starting at age six works well
● Attention and behavior can be more reliably compared to age norms
● Teachers can provide valuable insight into school functioning
● Standardized tools provide more accurate results
If you are concerned about a younger child we are still happy to meet with you to explore early signs and provide support or guidance
Important Notes
● ADHD assessments do not include formal testing of academic abilities. If learning challenges are a concern a Psychoeducational Assessment may be more appropriate
● The process is flexible and adjusted to your unique situation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and usefulness
