Ciara Neave (she/her) M.C.
Ciara Neave (she/her) is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in the province of Alberta. She provides counselling services to adolescents and adults through both in-person sessions in Calgary and virtual sessions across Alberta. Ciara has worked in a variety of settings including public schools, private health clinics, non-profit agencies, and community organizations. Her background includes providing counselling, advocacy, and mental health support across a broad range of client needs and life stages.
Ciara holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and takes a person-centered, developmentally informed, and strength-based approach to her work. She draws from therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Attachment Theory, compassion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. She has completed certifications from the Institute for Solution-Focused Therapy, NOCD Academy’s OCD and Exposure-Based Therapy training, and the Breakthrough T1D: Mental Health and Diabetes Training Program, which support her work with individuals experiencing OCD, anxiety-related disorders, and chronic health conditions.
Ciara has a special interest in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, life transitions, stress, self-esteem, identity development, and challenges related to school, work, and life balance. She also has experience working with individuals with ADHD, ASD, FASD, ODD, learning disabilities, and chronic health conditions such as Type 1 Diabetes and Cerebral Palsy. In addition, Ciara is passionate about working with athletes to address performance anxiety, mental blocks, and confidence-related challenges both in and outside of sport.
Ciara is committed to offering a welcoming, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions, increase emotional insight, and build practical coping tools. She works collaboratively with clients to identify their goals, honour their unique identities and values, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Born and raised in Calgary, Ciara’s favourite ways to unwind include horseback riding, diving into a great novel, and enjoying quality time with her husband.
