Carson Flockhart (he/him) M.C.

Carson is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta who works with adolescents, adults, and seniors navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges. He understands beginning therapy can feel overwhelming and aims to create a warm, practical, and non-judgmental environment where people feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported.

Carson brings more than a decade of experience in the mental health and disability sectors. Over the course of his career, he has worked in group homes as a child and youth care worker, supported families through supervised access for children involved with Children’s Services, coordinated services for individuals with complex disability support needs, and served in front-line community support roles. These experiences shaped his understanding of how personal, family, medical, and systemic factors intersect in people’s lives and continue to inform his compassionate, pragmatic approach to therapy today.

In his work as a psychologist, Carson has practiced in private clinics, rehabilitative medicine settings, and multidisciplinary healthcare environments. He has extensive experience assisting individuals recovering psychologically following motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries, and regularly works with Veterans and first responders navigating the effects of service-related experiences. Carson understands the additional pressures created by insurance systems, medical recovery, and return-to-work planning.

Carson holds a Master of Counselling Psychology, and works from an integrative, collaborative, and goal-oriented lens. His clinical training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Carson also holds certification in TEAMS-CBT, DBT and has completed specialized training in psychoeducational and behavioural assessment, including the WISC-V, WIAT-4, BASC, and ABAS. Carson is committed to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, and therapy is always adapted to each person’s goals, strengths, and pace.

Clients often describe Carson as approachable, genuine, and easy to talk to. He believes people have a strong capacity for growth and values therapeutic relationships built on trust, curiosity, and steady progress toward meaningful change. He helps clients understand how past experiences and current demands shape patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, while building practical strategies to improve daily functioning, resilience, and confidence.

Outside of the office, Carson enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, son and dog. He is an avid fan of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, enjoys the strategy and creativity of Magic: The Gathering, and unwinds with video games when time allows. He also loves heavy metal music and appreciates the community and expression it brings. Whenever possible, Carson likes getting outdoors to recharge, reset, and feel closer to the mountains.
