Altamish “Mitch” Bukhari (he/him)
Altamish is one of the newest members of our team! He will join Courtney as our second part-time Office Administrator at Center Street Psychology. As a self-proclaimed “stubborn perfectionist," he takes pride in keeping things organized both inside and outside the office. He answers the clinic phone, responds to administrative emails, and helps the clinic in every way he can.
Empathy motivates Altamish at his core. With over 7 years of experience volunteering and working in mental health, he knows what it is like to support people when they are at their most vulnerable. He prides himself on being empathetic and non-judgemental of people no matter what, and he always does his best to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted. He is also very passionate about mental health advocacy. As someone who lives with a mental health disorder, he tries his best to dispel stigma, defy stereotypes, and do good by all of the people who were kind enough to support him throughout his life.
Altamish is also passionate about the sciences and the humanities. He loves learning new concepts and understanding how things work. His interests have led him to the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary, where he is currently working on his Masters in Data Science and Analytics. He is trying his best to grapple with the advent of LLMs and the impacts they have had on every aspect of society.
Outside of work and his studies, Altamish is largely a homebody. He loves spending time with his loved ones and deriving joy from all of the little things in life, like having cold iced capps from Tim Hortons (with caramel syrup, of course) and giving big hugs. He enjoys jogging, hiking, and going on long drives. If he isn’t busy handling his family’s pet birds (a green cheek conure, a pineapple green cheek conure, and five cockatiels) or studying, then his absolute favourite way to destress is playing video games. His current favourite video game is THE FINALS, but his roots are in the PlayStation classics (Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, etc.).
