Prachi Bhatnagar, M.C.
(she/her)
Dr. Prachi Bhatnagar is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta who provides counselling to adolescents and adults, and offers individual, couples, and family counselling. She has extensive experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship and family concerns, self-esteem, emotional regulation, neurodiversity, and life transitions. She also has experience supporting clients navigating workplace and return-to-work concerns.
Prachi holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a doctorate in Psychology. She has continued to expand her clinical training in areas including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with a focus on trauma work, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels I and II, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Hypnosis psychotherapy. She uses an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based approaches. She believes therapy should fit the person - not the other way around - and adapts her approach to each client's needs, personality, experiences, and goals.
Prachi takes a warm, collaborative, and strengths-based approach to therapy. She believes that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. She takes the time to understand each client's unique experiences, relationships, culture, and circumstances rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Her goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients can better understand themselves, work through challenges, and develop practical tools to move forward.
Outside of being a psychologist, Prachi is a wife, a mom to two daughters, an avid reader, and -for her family - an exceptionally well-organized scheduler, snack coordinator, and full-time personal assistant. Much of her free time is spent moving between her daughters various classes and activities, usually with a book in hand and a mental checklist running in the background! Prachi enjoys reading, spending time with her husband and daughters, and finding the occasional quiet moment to recharge.
